The top-ranked UCLA women’s golf team moved into second place Monday after 36 holes in the Northrup Grumman Regional Challenge at the Palos Verdes Golf Club.
The Bruins posted a team score of 291 (+7) and watched the rest of the field slide south. UCLA was in second place at 581 (+13), trailing USC (567, -1) by 14 shots. Duke was third at 584 (+16), followed by Baylor in fourth place at 585 (+17). In fifth place was Arizona at 586 (+18).
Individually for the Bruins, freshmen Bronte Law and Alison Lee were tied for ninth place at one-over par 143 after each posted rounds of 72 (+1). Junior Erynne Lee also carded a score of 72 (+1) and was tied for 17th at 146 (+4). Tied for 29th at 149 (+7) was senior Ani Gulugian following her round of 75 (+4), and tied for 63rd at 155 (+13) was sophomore Louise Ridderstrom.
Freshman Yvonne Zheng, playing as an individual, was in 88th place.
USC’s Annie Park held the 36-hole lead at 134 (-8), following a second consecutive round of 67 (-4).
