Alison Lee Named Pac-12 Golfer and Freshman of the Year

LOS ANGELES, CA -- Freshman Alison Lee continued to add to her trophy case, earning 2014 Pac-12 Freshman of the Year and Golfer of the Year, the conference announced Monday.

Lee, 19, set a single season UCLA scoring record of 71.0 in 34 rounds played. For the season she was 22-under par, and won three times, including the 2014 Pac-12 Championship. She also set a school record by recording 20 rounds under par. Last month, Lee was named the WGCA’s national Freshman of the Year and a first-team All-American, WGCA All-Central Region and First-Team All-Pac-12. Following the season, Lee won the GolfStat Cup, awarded the collegiate player who finishes the year with the best scoring average. Finally, she will represent the USA at the Curtis Cup later this week.

Ending her 15th season, Head Coach Carrie Forsyth has coached five conference Newcomers or Freshmen of the Year and three Players of the Year.
