Golfers Prepare for the Redhawk Invitational Monday

University Place, WA -- The 14th-ranked UCLA men’s golf team will play in the inaugural Redhawk Invitational Monday, hosted by Seattle University at Chambers Bay Golf Course.

Eighteen teams will vie for the Redhawk Invitational title, including Pac-12 rivals UCLA and Washington, the highest ranked teams in the tournament. Also competing are West Coast schools from Long Beach State, Pepperdine and the University of San Diego.

UCLA Head Coach Derek Freeman has announced the following lineup: senior Anton Arboleda, juniors Preston Valder and Jay Hwang and sophomores Jonathan Garrick, Lorens Chan and Jake Knapp. Garrick and Chan are the Bruins’ highest ranked players; Garrick was ranked 16th by GolfWeek and Chan 66th in the most recent poll.

This week, Chambers Bay will play to a par of 70 over 7,047 yards. On Monday, teams will play 36 holes, followed by 18 holes on Tuesday.
