The UCLA women’s rowing program will compete at the Head of the American in Rancho Cordova, Calif., on Saturday, Oct. 26.
Competing at Lake Natoma, the site of the annual Pac-12 Championships, UCLA will race three varsity eight crews and one novice eight boat. The Bruins’ novice eight is scheduled to race at 10:15 a.m. UCLA’s varsity eights will race at 1:45 p.m.
“We’re excited to have a road trip here in our fall season,” head coach Amy Fuller Kearney said. “We are looking forward to the opportunity for some great races.”
UCLA advanced to NCAA Championships for the third time in four seasons last May, posting a ninth-place overall finish in Indianapolis, Ind. The Bruins’ varsity eight crew finished first in its Petite Final race on the final day of competition.
This Saturday’s Head of the American at Lake Natoma is expected to field at least 660 boats in all races.
