Eric Kendricks Named Lott IMPACT Player of the Week
By: UCLA Athletics

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. – UCLA junior linebacker Eric Kendricks has been named the Lott IMPACT Player of the Week, the Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation announced Monday.

Kendricks helped lead the Bruins to a 34-27 victory over Utah in the Pac-12 opener last Thursday. The 6-0, 228-pound linebacker paced the UCLA defense with 13 tackles and had one of the six interceptions for the Bruins.

In recognition of Kendricks’ performance, the Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation, sponsors of the Lott IMPACT Trophy, will make a $1,000 donation to the general scholarship fund at UCLA.

Kendricks is the second Bruin to win the Lott IMPACT Player of the Week award, following teammate Anthony Barr, the Week 3 recipient.  It is the fifth time in six weeks that the winner was from the Pac-12.

Kendricks led the Pac-12 in tackles last season with 150, which is the highest total in UCLA history behind only former All-American Jerry Robinson.  Kendricks’ father Marv was the Bruins’ leading rusher in both 1970 and 1971.

A political science major, Kendricks has made the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll four times in his UCLA career.
