LOS ANGELES – The UCLA football team began to wind down its preparations for ASU with a morning practice in misty conditions Thursday in shells at Spaulding Field.
The Bruins lead the series with the Sun Devils, 18-10-1. UCLA has won the last two meetings by a total of three points. Ka’imi Fairbairn’s 33-yard field goal as time ran out provided the difference last season in Tempe.
There was more than 1,000 yards of offense generated in that contest. Brett Hundley, playing a few miles from where he went to high school, drove the Bruins 65 yards in 12 plays into field goal range. UCLA had taken possession on its own 20-yard line with 1:33 to play. Hundley completed four of his five pass attempts for 45 yards on the drive.
The game will kickoff at 4 p.m. PT, and be televised by FOX with Gus Johnson (play by play), Charles Davis (color) and Kristina Pink (field reporter) calling the action.
