LOS ANGELES – The UCLA football team began to wind down preparations for rival USC with a Thanksgiving morning practice at Spaulding Field on Thursday.
In UCLA’s last win in the Coliseum in 1997, the teams battled to a 21-all tie at the half. Cade McNown connected with tight end Mike Grieb for their second scoring connection of the contest midway through the third quarter to put UCLA ahead. Chris Sailer added a field goal on the Bruins’ next possession for a 10-point cushion entering the final 15 minutes of play. Two fourth-quarter interceptions by Javelin Guidry and Wasswa Serwanga halted Trojan scoring threats to preserve the win.
The two teams will meet on Saturday, Nov. 30, in the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. The game will kickoff at 5:00 p.m. PT, and be televised by ABC with Sean McDonough (play by play), Chris Spielman (color) and Shannon Spake (field reporter) calling the action.
