Release:  03/04/2014
The Jim Mora Count On Me Family Foundation awarded 11 charitable organizations grants through its eighth annual grant cycle. The Count On Me Family Foundation, celebrating its eighth year of service, supports children in need in Southern California, Washington, and Georgia.

Funds for the grant cycle were raised through the annual fundraiser, the Jim Mora Celebrity Golf Classic, the Lucky Strike Bowling Benefit Bash, and other yearly campaigns and through generous donations from individuals throughout the year. The Jim Mora Count On Me Family Foundation has granted over 1.8 million in money and in-kind donations to children's charitable organizations in California, Washington, and Georgia since its inception in 2005.

“We are humbled by the tremendous support and generosity of our sponsors and friends of the Foundation who make funding for our grant cycles possible from year to year,” said Shannon Mora, Vice President of the Foundation.” We had a record number of outstanding charitable organizations seeking grants this year making the selection process very challenging. As in years past, we continued to focus our efforts on organizations that best align with our mission and we are very pleased to support these eleven amazing organizations and their programs through grants.”

The following 11 charities received partnership grants this year: Boys & Girls Club of Bellevue (WA), Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta (GA), Club 21 Learning and Resource Center, Exceptional Children’s Foundation, Saint Francis Medical Center Foundation, Special Olympics of Georgia, Special Olympics of Southern California, Special Olympics of Washington, Stillpoint Family Resources, Vista Community Clinic, and Young Warriors. Recipients of in kind donations have been SuiteKids Foundation, Young Warriors, Watts/Willowbrook Boys & Girls Club, Special Olympics of Southern California, Mattel Children’s Hospital UCLA, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital, Seattle Children’s Hospital, Children’s Hospital of Atlanta Egleston, and Children’s Hospital of Atlanta Scottish Rite. Since 2005, the Foundation has raised money for over 50 children’s organizations helping children in need and at risk.

The Jim Mora Count On Me Family Foundation, created in October 2005, is a 501(c)(3) organization which supports children in need, primarily in three target areas: children from low socio-economic backgrounds, mentally and physically-challenged children, and children at-risk. The Foundation affords children the opportunity to realize their potential and dreams by assisting organizations which help to create more stability in their lives, supporting advocacy for children, and supporting channels that allow children to have a voice.
