CARSON, Calif. - UCLA hosted its annual Spring Showcase on Saturday evening, as Team Mazzone’s Blue Team defeated Team Ulbrich’s White Squad, 28-0, at StubHub Center.

The Bruins concluded their spring football practice schedule with a four-quarter scrimmage in front of 15,108 fans. All four touchdowns scored by the Blue Team came on short rushing plays.

Quarterback Brett Hundley saw action in the first offensive series, completing 4 of 5 passes for 30 yards.

Jordan Payton was the game’s leading receiver, hauling in eight receptions for 96 yards. Steven Manfro led all running backs with 47 yards on 11 carries and had one touchdown.

In addition to Hundley, four quarterbacks saw action under center. Jerry Neuheisel led the unit in passing yardage on Saturday, completing 14 of 22 passes for 180 yards. Asiantii Woulard completed 4 of 13 passes for 42 yards, while Mike Fafaul completed 7 of 16 passes for 116 yards. Mike Hall completed one eight-yard pass in two attempts.

Jordon James scored two of the game’s four touchdowns, rushing for 10 yards one three attempts. James’ two touchdowns came on a 1-yard run in the second quarter and a 3-yard run in the third quarter.

Three defensive players each recorded two sacks – linemen Owamagbe Odighizuwa and Zach Vinci and linebacker Deon Hollins. Defensive backs Adarius Pickett and Ishmael Adams each intercepted passes from Neuheisel.

UCLA will open its 2014 season at Virginia (Charlottesville, Va.) on Saturday, Aug. 30. The Bruins will return to the Rose Bowl to face Memphis on Saturday, Sept. 6.
