Matt Bernstein begins his seventh season at UCLA and his first as Director of Scouting/Administration. Bernstein’s responsibilities within the Bruin organization include the administration of all prospect evaluations and roster management, as well as overseeing camps and clinics. In addition to those duties, Bernstein assists with other football-related events.
Previously, Bernstein worked as the Director of Football Relations, a position he held since April, 2012. In his role as Director of Football Relations, Bernstein responsibilities included camps and clinics, managing all recruiting video, assisting in the day to day recruiting operations, implementing and overseeing the New Media Department and serving as the liaison to the Human Resources Department.
Since working at UCLA, Bernstein has help bring in several top 15 recruiting classes to Westwood.
Bernstein attended the University of Miami, in Florida, where he served as a student assistant in the football program for four years. During the 2009 and 2010 season Bernstein served as a student assistant coach working with the tight ends and Special Teams unit. Bernstein also worked in Miami’s recruiting office, contributing to UM’s No. 1-ranked recruiting class in 2008.
Bernstein earned a BS degree in Sports Administration, with minors in Business Administration and Sociology, from Miami in 2010.
