Chris Reinert returns to UCLA following a two year stint at Washington State. Reinert previously worked at UCLA from 2011-2013 before spending the 2014 and 2015 seasons on the staff at Washington State. Reinert will work as an analyst with the Bruins’ Special Teams.

In 2014, Reinert served as a Defensive Graduate Assistant/Assistant Defensive Backs Coach at Washington State in addition to a multitude of Special Teams responsibilities. Reinert helped guide freshman Charleston White, who led the Pac-12 in passes defensed and finished tied for 3rd nationally in the category. Reinert transitioned to Offensive Graduate Assistant in 2015 and worked with the Quarterbacks. Reinert assisted Head Coach Mike Leach in offensive game planning and served as special assistant to the Head Coach. Quarterback Luke Falk earned 1st Team All-Pac-12 Honors as the Washington State offense led the nation in passing yardage per game and Red Zone offense in 2015. The Cougars finished 2015 with 9 wins and a Sun Bowl victory over Miami (FL).

Previously at UCLA, Reinert assisted with the defensive backs, working the 2012 and 2013 seasons as a defensive graduate assistant and the 2011 campaign as the defensive quality control coach. In 2013, Reinert was part of a Bruin defensive staff that produced a defense that finished among the top three in the Pac-12 Conference in pass defense, passing touchdowns allowed, and third-down defense. 

Prior to his time at UCLA, Reinert served the 2010 season as the Defensive Backs coach at Harvard-Westlake High School in Studio City, CA.

PERSONAL — Reinert was a four-year letterwinner as a wide receiver/punt returner at Vanderbilt University, playing in over 30 career games from 2005-09. The Santa Ana, Calif. native served as a member of the team's Leadership Council, and was honored with Vanderbilt University's highest football honor, the Dedication Award. He was a five-time All-SEC Academic Team honoree.

Reinert earned his bachelor’s degree in Economics from Vanderbilt in 2009 and is nearing completion of his master’s degree in education from UCLA. He is engaged to Emily Tyson, and the two will wed in July 2016.
