  • D.D. Acholonu's sack in the first quarter gives him 24.5 in his career, second on WSU all-time list. His career sack yardage mark is now 178.0, 1.5 yards behind second place Keith Mallard.

  • UCLA Dave Ball's recorded a sack in the second quarter to set a UCLA single-season record with 13.5. The previous mark was held by Carnell Lake with 13 in 1987. Ball's 27.5 career sacks is also a UCLA career record (old mark was 26.5 by Eric Smith, 1984-88).

  • Jonathan Smith's three touchdown runs is the second time in his short Cougar career he has accomplished the feat. He scored three in his second WSU game against Idaho last year. He also had a pair of touchdowns in four other games, two last year against Nevada and Stanford (both were receiving TDs) and twice this year, Idaho in Seattle and Oregon State two weeks ago.

  • Jonathan Smith topped the 100-yards mark rushing with 130 yards against UCLA. His other 100-yards games were 121 against Idaho last year and 160 against Idaho this year.

  • Jonathan Smith accounted for 215 yards out of WSU's 323 yards of total offense. He had 130 rushing yards and 85 receiving yards. Smith's 215 all-purpose yards ranks 15th in WSU single-game history.

  • Smith topped the 200-yard all-purpose barrier in a game for the second time this season (226 vs. Idaho). He is the first Cougar to have more than one 200-plus all-purpose yard games in a season since Steve Broussard had three in 1989. The only other Cougar to have multiple 200-plus all-purpose yard games in a season was Rueben Mayes (two in 1984).

  • Jonathan Smith's 36 carries tied for 5th in WSU all-time records...he had 40 touches on 71 plays.

  • Third down conversions - UCLA 0-4 in first quarter...1-11 in first half...WSU has given up a total of two third down conversions in the first quarter of the last seven games. WSU has allowed three third down conversions in the fourth quarter of the last seven games, including one by UCLA tonight.

  • WSU has allowed just three teams this year to rush for over 100 yards, Notre Dame for 167 yards, USC, last week, for 222 yards, and UCLA tonight rushed for 145 yards.

  • WSU LB Don Jackson had a career-best 11 tackles tonight, including 3 tackles for loss.

  • UCLA punter Chris Kluwe's third quarter 66-yard punt was a career-high.

  • Jason David's third quarter interception was his sixth of the season and 16th of his career...he is second on the WSU all-time list, trailing Lamont Thompson's 24 career interceptions, and tied for seventh on the single-season list.

  • There were 14 combined turnovers, the most in a Cougar game this season. WSU and Oregon State combined for 12 and the Cougars and Oregon combined for 11 earlier this season.

  • Erik Coleman's two interceptions in the fourth quarter give him six this season, tied for seventh on WSU's single season list...he has 11 in his career which is tied for seventh all-time at WSU.

  • WSU's nine penalties are the fewest in a game since eight in the season opener against Idaho. UCLA was tagged with 12 penalties making it the first time since the Idaho game this season a WSU opponent had more penalties than the Cougars.

  • UCLA's Spencer Havner had a career-high 13 tackles.

  • UCLA's Craig Bragg has 33 straight games with at least one catch and 28 straight games with at least two catches.

  • UCLA's Justin Medlock has made 12 of his last 13 field goal attempts including 2 for 2 against WSU.
