Matt Moore Has Severe Bone Bruise
By: UCLA Athletics

Sept. 7, 2003

UCLA sophomore quarterback Matt Moore, who was injured in the first quarter of Saturday's opener at Colorado, has a severe bone bruise of the left tibia and is expected to miss four to six weeks. Moore had an MRI on his left knee on Sunday which revealed the bruise.

"We are happy that Matt's injury is not as serious as we originally thought it might be and we look forward to his return. At the same time, we are confident in Drew Olson's ability to lead this football team.

Moore, who made his second career start against the Buffaloes, had completed four of seven passes for 41 yards when he was injured near the end of the first quarter. Olson came off the bench to complete 13 of 23 passes for 164yards and two touchdowns in UCLA's 16-14 loss.
