Maurice Drew Named UCLA/MET-Rx Student-Athlete of the Week

Sept. 20, 2004

Drew had a record-setting day in UCLA's 37-31 win at Washington, rushing 26 times for 322 yards (12.4-yard average) and five touchdowns that covered 47, 62, 58, 15 and 37 yards. The 322 yards rushing is a UCLA record and the third-highest single-game total in Pac-10 history. The five touchdowns tied the Pac-10 record for rushing touchdowns in a game. Drew's effort paced a UCLA offense that put up 546 yards total offense, including 424 yards rushing, and the Bruins were forced to punt only once. In addition to Pac-10 player of the week honors, Drew has been named the Walter Camp Football Foundation National 1-A Offensive Player of the Week.

This is Drew's first UCLA/MET-Rx Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and of his career.

Also nominated: Peter Campbell, M. Golf; Mike Enfield, M. Soccer; Iris Mora, W. Soccer; Brett Ormsby, M. Water Polo; Brittany Ringel, W. Volleyball.
