Sept. 9, 2001
UCLA Heisman Trophy candidate DeShaun Foster rushed for a career-high 189 yards in the Bruins' 41-17 victory at Kansas.
Originally, Foster was credited with 179 yards. However, it was discovered that the stat computer started a Bruin drive on their own 49-yard line instead of the 39-yard line following a Kansas punt. The second play of the drive was at the UCLA 45-yard line, so instead of receiving credit for a six-yard gain, Foster was credited with a four-yard loss.
After two games, Foster ranks fourth nationally with his average of 149.5 yards per game.
