*UCLA has won its 100th game in the Rose Bowl since moving its home games to Pasadena in 1982. UCLA's record in the Rose Bowl is now 100-43-2. The Bruins have won seven straight in the Rose Bowl.
*UCLA is now 57-26-5 in openers and 8-0 all-time against Utah.
*With 318 yards passing in the game, Ben Olson has thrown the most passing yards for a UCLA quarterback making his first start since Tommy Maddox threw for 353 yards at Michigan Sept. 22, 1990. Olson is only the third UCLA quarterback to throw for 300 yards or more in his first start (records began in 1965), joining Maddox and Steve Bono (399 yards vs. BYU, Oct. 1, 1983)
*Olson also completed 25 passes, the most by a UCLA quarterback making his first start since Maddox completed 26 at Michigan in 1990.
*Olson threw for three touchdowns in the game, joining Bono (vs. BYU in 1983) and Scott McEwan (vs. Arizona State Dec. 1, 2001) as one of only three Bruin players to do so in his first start.
*Olson was 4-4 with 63 yards passing on his first series as a starter, which culminated in a 16-yard touchdown pass to Ryan Moya. It was Olson's first career touchdown pass.
*Olson completed his first nine passes in the game. His first seven were completed to seven different receivers, all for first downs.
*Olson completed a 46-yard pass to Logan Paulsen in the third quarter, career-longs for both players.
*UCLA punter Aaron Perez hit a career-long 53-yard punt in the second quarter
*UCLA true freshman Alterraun Verner returned a Tommy Grady interception for 34 yards in the second quarter, Verner's first interception and first touchdown of his career. It was UCLA's first interception return for a touchdown since Trey Brown at Oregon on Nov. 13, 2004 (43 yards) and the first by a UCLA true freshman since Carlton Gray on Oct. 28, 1989 vs. Washington (65 yards)
