Redshirt freshman free safety Tevin McDonald (Fresno, CA/Edison HS) of the UCLA football team was selected as the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for Oct. 24-30.
McDonald, the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week, had three interceptions in UCLA's 31-14 win over California. The three interceptions tied the school single-game record, and McDonald became the fifth player to accomplish the feat. Rahim Moore had the last three-interception game for the Bruins in 2009 against San Diego State. McDonald also tied the Pac-12 freshman record with three picks in one game. He added three tackles as well.
This is McDonald's first UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and of his career.
Also nominated: Patrick Cantlay, M. Golf; Katja Goldring, W. Cross Country; Sydney Leroux, W. Soccer; Rachael Kidder, W. Volleyball; Kent Morikawa, M. Cross Country; Joe Sofia, M. Soccer.
