The UCLA football team departed for the Bridgepoint Education Holiday Bowl on Friday afternoon and UCLA senior fullback David Allen agreed to answer a few questions prior to the team's departure. Check below to see what David had to say!
Holiday Bowl Q&A -- UCLA FB David Allen
Q: Do you have any Holiday Bowl memories?
A: I actually had the chance to go to the Nebraska-Washington Holiday Bowl as a fan a few years ago (2010) and that was a great experience. The stadium was unbelievable and the atmosphere was electric, so I am very excited to be a part of it this year.
Q: What else from that game sticks out in your mind?
A: Driving to the stadium and seeing signs and flags from each team everywhere was really cool. So was seeing all the tailgaters. I've been to a Chargers game there before, but the in-stadium vibe was completely different. I'm used to seeing a sea of Chargers gear, but that time (of course), everyone had on Holiday Bowl merchandise. The feel of the stadium was unlike one I had experienced there before, from the pregame all the way through the end of the game. It was electrifying.
Q: What do you expect this time around from a player's perspective?
A: Especially with the season we've had this year I expect the stands to be pretty full. I know that our fan base will be out in full force and I know Baylor will bring a good crowd too. I really think the stadium will be a very fun place to be on the night of December 27.
Q: As an outgoing senior, do you have a message for the players who will still be here next year, and for those who will enter the program in coming years?
A: Stay hungry. Guys like me who have been here for four years have seen it all. This is just the start of something special. Coach Mora's arrival represents the new beginning for the program. I was fortunate enough to experience that this year and I'm so excited for the future of UCLA Football.
