UCLA Notes

  • The Bruins' two-game winning streak in the Oregon State series was snapped (41-16-4 all-time). UCLA's six-game, home-winning streak was also broken.
  • UCLA was held scoreless in the first and third quarters after only being blanked once in its first 12 quarters this season.
  • Redshirt freshman Brett Hundley became the first-ever UCLA quarterback to throw for at least 300 yards in three straight games. The only other freshmen with three, 300-yard-plus passing games in one season are Tommy Maddox, 1990 and Kevin Prince, 2009.
  • The 372 passing yards for Hundley are the most for a Bruin since Drew Olson threw for 510 against Arizona State (11/12/2005). They are also the second most in a single game for a UCLA freshman (Tommy Maddox, 353, 11/17/1990 vs. USC).
  • The 404 yards of total offense for Hundley are the most for a Bruin since Olson's 510 versus ASU and the fifth-most for one game in school history. It is also the second most in a single game for a UCLA freshman (Tommy Maddox, 445, 11/17/1990 vs. USC).
  • Hundley's 65-yard touchdown pass to redshirt junior Shaquelle Evans in the second quarter was the longest pass and TD throw of Hundley's brief career. It was also Evans' longest catch and TD reception.

  • Redshirt junior Darius Bell posted a 34-yard and a 29-yard reception in the fourth quarter, the longest two catches of his career.

    Oregon State Notes

  • The last time the Beavers defeated ranked teams in back-to-back games was during the 2000 season (No. 8 OSU defeated No. 5 Oregon 23-13 on 11/18/00 & No. 5 OSU defeated No. 10 Notre Dame 1/1/01 in the Fiesta Bowl) ... OSU has never defeated ranked teams in back-to-back weeks.

  • OSU gave up a 65-yard touchdown pass from Brett Hundley to Shaquelle Evans, the longest pass against the Beavers since last year against UCLA when Richard Brehaut connected with Josh Smith.
  • Markus Wheaton (150) and Brandin Cooks (175) each finished with more than 100 receiving yards ... it is the first time OSU has had two 100-yard receivers since Wheaton and James Rodgers accomplished the feat at Arizona (Oct. 9, 2010).
  • Oregon State is now 66-7 when it leads after three quarters under Mike Riley.
  • With the win Mike Riley tied Lon Stiner for the most wins as a head coach in OSU history (74).
