The Pac-12 South Division Champion UCLA football team was honored on Sunday night at the LA Sports Awards, at The Beverly Hilton. The Bruins' earned the Division title and a berth in the Pac-12 Championship Game with a 38-28 win over USC in the Rose Bowl and it was recognized as the eighth-greatest L.A. sports moment of 2012. Running back Johnathan Franklin was also honored for UCLA's top sports moment of 2012. Franklin broke the school's all-time rushing record during the Arizona game this past season.
Head Coach Jim Mora and Franklin were both on hand to receive the awards. This was the eighth annual LA Sports Awards presented by the Los Angeles Sports Council to celebrate the greatest moments of the year in sports in the Los Angeles/Orange County area.
The Bruins will begin spring practice on April 2 at Spaulding Field and will conduct the spring game on April 27 in the Rose Bowl at 5 p.m. The 2013 season kicks off on August 31st in the Rose Bowl against Nevada. For ticket information call 310-UCLA-WIN (310-825-2946).
