Redshirt sophomore running back Jonathan Franklin rushed for 109 yards, eclipsing the 100-yard mark for the fifth time this season and the seventh time in his career.
Franklin became the first UCLA player to rush for 100+ yards against USC since DeShaun Foster rushed for 109 yards on Nov. 21, 1998 (34-17 UCLA victory).
Franklin's 1,127 rushing yards this season ranks 10th on the Bruins' single-season rushing list.
Franklin's 59-yard TD rush in the first quarter marked his season-long carry (previous, 55)
Junior safety Tony Dye registered his first career interception with 10:06 to play in the third quarter.
Redshirt sophomore defensive back Aaron Hester had his team-leading third interception of the season with 2:54 remaining in the third quarter.
Redshirt junior wide receiver Taylor Embree led the Bruins with seven receptions (76 yards) on Saturday night, pushing his season total to a team-leading 32 catches (409 yards).
Redshirt senior Kai Forbath successfully converted both of UCLA's PATs, pushing his career points total to 357 - tied with Justin Medlock for second place on the Bruins' career scoring list.
Forbath finished his senior season converting 27 of 27 PATs.
Forbath never attempted a field goal against USC in four seasons (2007-10).
UCLA finished the season with a 3-3 record at the Rose Bowl.
Saturday's attendance of 71,105 is the highest of any UCLA football game at the Rose Bowl this season.
USC improves to 45-28-7 against UCLA, extending its win streak to four over the Bruins. USC has also won 11 of the past 12 against the Bruins. USC also avoids losing to both Notre Dame and UCLA in the same season for the first time since 1995.
Sr. TB Allen Bradford made his first start since the Cal game and finished with a career-high 28 carries for 212 yards. It was his third 100-yard game of the season and second 200-yard game (career-high 223 yards on 21 carries vs. Washington). Bradford's 47-yard touchdown catch in the fourth quarter was his longest career reception (and most receiving yards in a game). His 73-yard touchdown run later in the fourth quarter was the longest run of his career. Bradford's 212 rushing yards were the 28th highest by a Trojan running back in a game and the 43rd time a USC running back eclipsed 200 yards rushing in a game.
USC Sr. LB Malcolm Smith's 68-yard fumble return for a TD with 2:31 was USC's first fumble return for a score since Justin Wyatt returned one for 38 yards against UCLA in 2005 ... Smith's TD was his second of the season (he had a 74-yard TD interception return against ASU this year). He also returned an interception 62 yards for a TD against UCLA last year.
UCLA's Jonathan Franklin's 59-yard TD run was the longest run against USC since Illinois' Rashard Mendenhall had a 79-yard TD run in the 2008 Rose Bowl.
USC Fr. TB Dillon Baxter's 1st-quarter 5-yard TD pass was his first TD pass and made him 2-of-2 on passes this year for 9 yards ... The last non-QB to throw a TD for USC was Reggie Bush, who completed a 52-yarder to Dwayne Jarrett against ASU on Oct. 16, 2004. (QB-WR Garrett Green, lined up on the play as a WR, threw a 34-yard TD pass to Desmond Reed in the 2008 Rose Bowl against Illinois.) ... Baxter was the third Trojan to throw a TD pass this year (joining Matt Barkley and Mitch Mustain) ... The only other Trojan to attempt a pass this season was Marc Tyler (0-for-1) ... Rhett Ellison, the recipient of the TD pass, registered his third TD reception this season.
USC Fr. CB Nickell Robey had his team-high fourth interception in the third quarter. In the next possession he forced his first fumble of the season which was recovered by Malcolm Smith for his second fumble recovery of the day and of the season.
USC held UCLA to 14 points tonight and to under 20 points for the sixth consecutive season. The Bruins' late score to make it 28-14, kept the final total from being an identical 28-7 score for the third consecutive season.
SE TE Jordan Cameron had a career-highreception yards of 29.
Jr. DE Armond Armstead posted his second sack in the first quarter.
USC So. QB Matt Barkley had a touchdown pass in the fourth quarter. He now has at least one TD-pass in 20 of his 24 career game.
