Coach Mora addresses media after Wednesday's practice
The Bruins continued preparations for the home-opener on Saturday against 17th-ranked Nebraska with a productive practice on the new turf and grass surfaces at Spaulding Field.
UCLA and Nebraska are ranked first in the Pac-12 and the Big Ten, respectively, in Total Offense after the first week of the season. The Bruins hold down the #3 spot nationally (646.0) and the Huskers (632.0) are fourth in the country. Johnathan Franklin became the fourth UCLA back to rush for at least 200 yards in multiple games after compiling 214 ground yards at Rice, joining Gaston Green, Theotis Brown and Karim Abdul Jabbar. Eric Kendricks, who had a career-best 11 stops at Rice, has started the last four games at linebacker and has recorded 33 tackles in those contests.
The game against Nebraska is the first of three straight home contests in the Rose Bowl for the Bruins --- Nebraska (Sept. 8, 4:30 p.m. on FOX), Houston (Sept. 15, 7:30 p.m. on Pac-12 Networks) and Oregon State (Sept. 22, time TBA).
