The Bruin football team took the practice field on Monday for the first of two practices. This evening's second session is set to begin at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday's practice has been moved up to 8:30 a.m. Continue to check the website for practice time changes / updates.
Monday's morning practice was without pads as the team worked through multiple game situations, focusing on the four-minute and two-minute drills at the end. Coach Mora noted that Patrick Larimore indicated to the team last night that he will file the paperwork for a medical retirement. The senior linebacker has experienced multiple concussions.
Coach Mora described Larimore as possessing all the qualities you love in a football player, a leader on the field and in the locker room. It was a tough decision, but one made with the long term health of the young man in mind. Coach indicated that Larimore expressed a desire to stay a part of the team and may play a role as a student-coach in the future.
