Members of the UCLA Football team visited the Veterans Hospital on Tuesday, Dec. 18 to attend its holiday party for veterans. The student-athletes visited with the veterans, helped serve food, handed out posters, and signed autographs.
"Our visit to the Veterans Hospital was a great experience that helped us to show our appreciation for those who have served in our military," said senior punter Jeff Locke. "In the end, I think that the players who went benefited just as much as the veterans we were there to see. This was just a small way for us to say thank you to those who have served and have helped to protect the opportunities that we enjoy every day."
"Today was an experience like no other," said senior linebacker Dalton Hilliard. "I got to talk with a marine veteran named Stan. He left me with this: 'Experiences don't create you, you create experiences.' I will never forget what he told me today, and I truly valued his time!"
