Each week, UCLABruins.com will feature a Play of the Week and salute the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week.
For the first-ever UCLABruins.com Play of the Week, there are two winners - the blocked punt that led to a touchdown in the UCLA football win over Nevada and the overtime goal in men's soccer's upset win over No. 1 Indiana.
Senior forward Victor Chavez scored a golden goal just 49 seconds into overtime to give UCLA a 1-0 victory over No. 1 ranked Indiana in front of a stadium record crowd of 7,720. The Bruins scored the goal while playing a man down after receiving a red card in the 75th minute.
Men's soccer goalkeeper Earl Edwards Jr. was named the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week after posting a pair of shutouts in a 0-0 tie against Notre Dame and the 1-0 win at Indiana. Against Notre Dame, Edwards made five saves, and against Indiana, he had four, including a critical save in the 15th minute and a penalty kick save in the 75th. Edwards has started out the season with 201 straight minutes without giving up a goal.
