Each week, uclabruins.com will update and highlight select UCLA players' progress during the current MLS season. Games highlighted are from Mar. 26-Apr. 1. The Bruins lead all universities with 23 alumni in MLS.

Chad Barrett (Los Angeles Galaxy; Years played at UCLA: 2003-04)
Barrett came on as a substitute and played 19 minutes in the Galaxy's 3-1 home loss to New England on Saturday night. Barrett came on in the 71st minute for Paolo Cardozo and did not record an offensive statistic in his 19 minutes of play.

Tony Beltran (Real Salt Lake; Years played at UCLA: 2006-07)
Beltran started and played 78 minutes in defense as Real Salt Lake came from behind to defeat the Portland Timbers on the road 3-2 on Saturday night. Beltran recorded one shot on goal in the match before coming off in the 78th minute for midfielder Jonny Steele. So far, Beltran has started every match for Real Salt Lake this season.

Beltran's 2012 MLS season stats: 4GP/4GS, 348 minutes, 3 shots, 2 SOG

David Estrada (Seattle Sounders FC; Years played at UCLA: 2006-09)
David Estrada started and played all 90 minutes at forward in Seattle's 1-0 loss to the San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday. Estrada recorded four shots in the match, one on goal. His shot on net came in the 51st minute when he drove a low, lining shot towards the far post from beyond the box. But San Jose's keeper made the diving save and Seattle was unable to find the equalizer for the rest of the match. Estrada has started all three matches for the Sounders this season and is tied for second in the league with four goals, trailing leader Thierry Henry by just one goal.

Kevin Hartman (FC Dallas; Years played at UCLA: 1995-96)
Kevin Hartman made four saves in FC Dallas' 4-1 loss to DC United on Friday night. Hartman faced 17 total shots, nine of which were on target, in the match. Hartman is tied for fourth in MLS with 14 total saves on the season.

Jordan Harvey (Vancouver Whitecaps FC; Years played at UCLA: 2002-05)
Harvey earned his first start of the season against Philadelphia and played all 90 minutes at left back in the Whitecaps' 0-0 draw with the Union. Harvey recorded one shot in the match and played a key role in a Vancouver defense that held Philadelphia to only two shots on goal. The Whitecaps have not allowed a single goal to any of their four opponents this year and Harvey has seen action in each of those four games.
Whitecaps record: 2-0-2, 8 points, 4th place in Western Conference

Harvey's 2012 MLS season stats: 4GP/1GS, 168 minutes, 1 shot

Kamani Hill (Colorado Rapids; Years played at UCLA: 2004-05)
Former UCLA soccer player Kamani Hill was signed by the Colorado Rapids earlier this week after spending the last few years playing overseas in Germany and Portugal. Hill made his MLS debut on Sunday against the Chicago Fire and entered the league in grand style, scoring his first MLS goal in just eight minutes of play as the Rapids beat the Fire 2-0. Hill came on in the 82nd minute as a substitute and in the 92nd minute of play, scored an insurance goal for the Rapids to seal their victory. Hill got the ball just outside of the box and fired a shot on net that was saved by the Chicago keeper. The rebound came back to Hill though and this time he did not miss as he put the ball past the keeper to the far post for his first MLS goal of the year.

Hill's 2012 MLS season stats: 1GP/0GS, 8 minutes, 1 goal, 2 shots, 2 SOG

Chandler Hoffman (Philadelphia Union; Years played at UCLA: 2009-11)
Hoffman made his MLS debut on Saturday against the Whitecaps and played 51 minutes at forward in the Union's 0-0 draw with Vancouver. Hoffman did not record an offensive statistic in his 51 minutes of play. Last year Hoffman set the single season Pac-12 record for goals and points in a season with UCLA, scoring 18 goals and notching 42 points while earning All-America honors with the Bruins.
Union record: 0-3-1, 1 point, 8th place in Eastern Conference

Hoffman's 2012 MLS season stats: 1GP/1GS, 51 minutes

Patrick Ianni (Seattle Sounders FC; Years played at UCLA: 2003-05)
For the third straight match, Ianni started and played all 90 minutes at central defender as the Sounders' fell to San Jose 1-0 at home over the weekend. Ianni did not record an offensive statistic in the match, but was part of a Seattle defense that despite giving up a goal (scored on a penalty kick) held San Jose to five shots on target. Ianni has started and played every single minute in all three of Seattle's matches this season.

Ianni's 2012 MLS season stats: 3GP/3GS, 270 minutes

Chance Myers (Sporting Kansas City; Years played at UCLA: 2006-07)
Myers started and played all 90 minutes for the fourth consecutive match as Sporting Kansas City blanked Chivas USA 1-0 on Sunday night. The former No. 1 overall draft pick helped lead the Kansas City defense to their third shutout of the season and played a pivotal role in allowing zero shots on goal for Chivas USA. Myers has also played a big part in Kansas City's hot start to the season as they are 4-0 for the first time in their 17 year history and currently have the best record in all of MLS.
Sporting Kansas City record: 4-0, 12 points, 1st place in Eastern Conference
This week's Sporting Kansas City schedule: Apr. 7 - vs. Los Angeles Galaxy
Myers's 2012 MLS season stats: 4GP/4GS, 360 minutes, 1 assist, 2 shots

Matt Reis (New England Revolution; Years played at UCLA: 1994-97)
Goalkeeper Matt Reis recorded three saves and earned his second consecutive victory as the Revolution went on the road and defeated the Galaxy 3-1 at the Home Depot Center. Reis made a very nice save on a David Beckham free kick to keep New England's lead at 2-0 in the first half before finally relenting and giving up a goal to the Galaxy in the second half. But that was all the Galaxy could muster against Reis as he kept Los Angeles out of the net to earn his second win of the year.
Revolution record: 2-2, 6 points, 5th place in Eastern Conference

Reis's 2012 MLS season stats: 4GP/4GS, 360 minutes, 10 saves, 5 GA, 1.25 GAA

Nick Rimando (Real Salt Lake; Years played at UCLA: 1997-99)
Rimando made a season-high six saves and earned his third win of the year as Real Salt Lake defeated the Portland Timbers 3-2 at Jeld-Wen Field in Portland on Saturday night. Rimando allowed two goals to the Timbers in the 48th and 65th minute but was able to keep the game close and give his side a chance as Real Salt Lake came through with two late goals to earn the 3-2 victory. Rimando is third in MLS with 15 total saves on the year.

Rimando's 2012 MLS season stats: 4GP/4GS, 360 minutes, 15 saves, 4 GA, 1.00 GAA

Kelyn Rowe (New England Revolution; Years played at UCLA: 2010-11)
Kelyn Rowe scored his first MLS goal on Saturday as he led the Revolution to a 3-1 win over the Galaxy on Saturday night. Rowe started the match at midfielder and scored in the 10th minute, when he took a cross in the box and one-timed the ball on net. Galaxy goalkeeper Josh Saunders stopped the initial shot but the rebound came right back to Rowe and he finished top shelf to put the Revolution ahead 1-0. He then almost scored a second goal when he sent a corner kick into the box, gathered the rebound of the block and one-timed a shot on goal. But Saunders was on his line and made a nice save to prevent the goal. Overall, Rowe played all 90 minutes in the match and recorded one goal on three shots, all on target. He has started every game for the Revolution so far this season.

Michael Stephens (Los Angeles Galaxy; Years played at UCLA: 2006-09)
After spending the last few weeks with the U.S. U-23 National Team at the Olympic Qualifying Tournament, Michael Stephens returned to the Galaxy this weekend and saw his first action with club since the team's season opener back on March 10. Stephens came on at halftime as a substitute for David Beckham and played 45 minutes in the Galaxy's 3-1 loss to the Revolution. He did not record an offensive statistic in his 45 minutes of play.
Galaxy record: 1-2, 3 points, 8th place in Western Conference
This week's Galaxy schedule: Apr. 7 - at Sporting Kansas City
Stephens' 2012 MLS season stats: 2GP/0GS, 65 minutes

Marvell Wynne (Colorado Rapids; Years played at UCLA: 2004-05)
Wynne started and played all 90 minutes at central defender in the Colorado's 2-0 win over the Chicago Fire on Sunday. Wynne led the Rapids defense as they recorded their second shutout of the year. He has played in every single minute off all four of Colorado's matches this year and has helped lead the Rapids to a 3-1 start to the season.
