2000 — At the Pac-10 meet, Porter placed sixth in the triple jump (41-5Iw, season-best) … Season legal-best of 40-11 … In volleyball last fall, Porter set a Pac-10 record for kills in a season, earned All-America honors and was Volleyball Magazine’s “Player of the Year” … Porter also played on the Bruin women’s basketball team.
1999 — One of UCLA’s most versatile athletes … In volleyball, she was named a second-team AVCA All-American, and became the second-fastest player in NCAA history to record 1,000 career kills … In track, Porter placed third (41-5G, personal-best, No. 7 in school history, No. 44 in the U. S.) in the triple jump at the U. S. Junior meet, earning Junior All-America honors … At the Pac-10, she placed third (41-9Iw).
1998 — In volleyball, she was selected the Pac-10 Freshman of the Year and first-team All-Pac-10 … Led UCLA and Pac-10 with a 5.54 kills-per-game-average … Became only the second freshman ever chosen the AVCA National Player of the Week … Porter even appeared in four basketball games for the Bruins before switching to the track and field team.
