Women's Teams Hosting Select-A-Seat Open House
By: UCLA Athletics

June 3, 2013

LOS ANGELES - The UCLA Athletic Department is giving fans of the Bruins' women's basketball and women's gymnastics teams the opportunity to choose new seats for the best season ticket locations for the upcoming 2013-14 seasons. This unique opportunity is a Select-A-Seat Open House on Saturday, June 8 starting at 3:00 p.m. in Pauley Pavilion.

This is the first-ever event of this kind for the women's basketball and women's gymnastics programs. Participants of the Open House will receive an actual view of available seats for purchase on a first-come, first-serve basis. Admission is free and open to everyone for this one-day-only event. Fans can save money and get huge savings and better seat locations with the purchase of season tickets over single-game tickets.

All available seats will be tagged with the price of each season ticket. Fans can process their order instantly right inside Pauley Pavilion. Methods of payment include checks or all major credit cards (VISA, American Express, Discover and MasterCard).

Fans are encouraged to arrive 10 minutes prior to the start as the event will begin promptly at 3:00 p.m.

Parking is available for $3 per hour via the electronic pay stations (dollars and credit cards only). Be sure to display your receipt in your car. Pay by space parking is available in lots 4, 6 and 8. One hour should be enough parking time to purchase as the event is only open for 30 minutes.

The six-time NCAA champion Bruin gymnastics team returns 11 athletes from the 2013 squad that placed fourth at the NCAA Championships, including five-time Pac-12 Champion Olivia Courtney and All-Americans Danusia Francis and Sophina DeJesus. Also returning will be three world-class athletes who were out in 2013 with injuries, in 2008 Olympic medalist Samantha Peszek and World Championships competitors Christine Peng-Peng Lee and Mattie Larson.

UCLA's women's basketball team returns two starters, including senior guard Thea Lemberger (8.6 ppg, 2.3 rpg) and senior forward Atonye Nyingifa (11.6 ppg, 7.1 rpg), from a team that was ranked in the Top 25 for the final 17 weeks of the 2012-13 season. The Bruins advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament and ended the year with an overall record of 26-8 and a third-place finish in the Pac-12 Conference (14-4). The Bruins also welcome in four new players from all over the United States (Florida, Minnesota, Arizona) and the world (Sweden and Portugal) and will host a competitive home schedule featuring nationally prominent programs as well as a local flavor against teams from the Big West and West Coast Conferences.
