Senior Lindsey Vanden Eykel is in her third season as an undergraduate assistant coach after a shoulder injury forced her retirement in the summer of 2005.

The former two-time junior national uneven bars champion competed for the Bruins in every meet in 2005 and recorded season-highs of 9.925 on uneven bars, 9.85 on balance beam and 9.675 on floor exercise. She had two first-place finishes on uneven bars - at Oregon State on Jan. 14 and at Cal State Fullerton on Feb. 11. She also placed fourth on that event at the Pac-10 Championships.

Vanden Eykel, who has an interest in acting and dancing, hails from Plano, TX and trained at WOGA. She was a three-year U.S. National Team member and a member of the U.S. gold-medal team at the 2000 International Team Championships. She had stellar international results, placing first on bars and beam and fourth in the all-around at a USA vs. France meet in St. Etinne, France in 2000 and winning the all-around and beam at the 2000 Como Cup in Italy. She was also the runner-up on vault and bars and placed third on beam, fourth in the all-around and fifth on floor at the 1999 Canberra Cup in Australia.
