The 17th-ranked UCLA swimming and diving team will be on the road this weekend at two different meets, as the swimmers go to Las Vegas for the UNLV Fall Invitational, while the divers head to Tucson for the Arizona Diving Invite.
The UNLV Fall Invitational runs three days, starting Thursday at the Buchanan Natatorium. Each morning's preliminaries begin at 9 a.m., with the evening finals starting at 5 p.m. The 10-team field includes Pac-12 foes #1 California, Arizona State and Oregon State, as well as UNLV, BYU, Colorado State, Northern Arizona, UC Santa Barbara and Wyoming.
On Thursday, the morning prelims feature the 500 Freestyle, 200 Individual Medley and 50 Free, with those event finals, as well as the 200 Free Relay and 400 Medley Relay taking place that night.
Friday's schedule starts with the 400 IM, 100 Butterfly, 200 Free, 100 Breaststroke and 100 Backstroke. Those event finals and the 200 Medley Relay and 800 Free Relay will be that evening. The meet closes on Saturday with the morning prelims in the 200 Back, 100 Free, 200 Breast and 200 Fly. The 1650 Free opens up the evening session, which features the above mentioned four individual finals, as well as the 400 Free Relay.
The three-day Arizona Diving Invitational takes place at UA's Hillenbrand Aquatic Center, starting on Friday with the 3-Meter event at 11 a.m. PT. Saturday's 1-Meter begins at 11 a.m. PT, while Sunday's Platform starts at 10 a.m. PT. Among the teams in Tucson are Pac-12 foes #3 USC and #11 Arizona, as well as Boise State, BYU, Nevada, New Mexico, Northern Arizona, San Diego State, UNLV and Wyoming.
UCLA is 5-1 in dual meets this season and last competed at Arizona State on Nov. 9, defeating the Sun Devils 183-113. The Bruins won 11 of the 16 events, as senior Ting Quah, junior Noelle Tarazona and freshman Madison White each took first-place honors in a pair of races. Sophomore Katie Kinnear and freshman Linnea Mack and Ashley Tse also won races.
