Pac-12 Swimming and Diving Championships Central

The 16th-ranked Bruins travel to Federal Way, Wash. and the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center for the Pac-12 Conference Women's Swimming and Diving Championships. The four-day meet starts on Wednesday and runs through Saturday.

Tickets will be available at Weyerhaeuser (650 Southwest Campus Drive, Federal Way, WA 98003) on the day of the event only. Gates open at 10 a.m. each day. All-session passes are $40 for adults and $20 for students, children and seniors. One day passes are $15 for adults and $10 for students, children and seniors.

The opening night of the meet on Wednesday will feature the 200 Medley and 800 Freestyle Relays, starting at 6 p.m. Last Monday against USC, the Bruins broke the school record in the 200 Medley Relay, as freshman Linnea Mack, junior Jessica Khojasteh, sophomore Katie Kinnear and senior Kathryn Murphy swam a 1:38.38.

The individual races start on Thursday with preliminaries at 11 a.m. Up first is the 500 Free, followed by the 200 Individual Medley and the 50 Free. Senior Lauren Baker, junior Ally Loper and sophomore Katy Campbell all have NCAA 'B' qualifying marks in the 500 Free. Senior Anna Senko swam a season-best time in the 200 IM versus USC and has an NCAA 'B' time along with junior Noelle Tarazona. In the 50 Free, Mack swam the third-fastest time in UCLA history in Texas in December, while Murphy and senior Ting Quah also have NCAA 'B' cuts.

At 3 p.m. on Thursday, the 1-Meter diving preliminaries begin, with the finals beginning 15 minutes after the prelims end. Freshman Annika Lenz and senior Paulina Guzman each have Zone qualifying scores in the 1-Meter.

The swimming finals of the 500 Free, 200 IM and 50 Free commence at 6 p.m., with the 200 Free Relay rounding out the day's schedule. Against USC, the Bruins set a school record and automatically qualified for the NCAA Championships (March 20-22 in Minneapolis), as Quah, Mack, Murphy and junior Monica Dornick had a time of 1:29.36.

On Friday, the preliminaries begin again at 11 a.m. with the 400 IM, the 100 Butterfly, the 200 Free, the 100 Breaststroke and the 100 Backstroke. Tarazona, Baker and sophomore Arlyn Upshaw will all look to better their 400 IM times from Texas, which were good enough for the NCAA 'B' cut. Five Bruins, Quah, Kinnear, Tarazona, Mack and Senko have 'B' times in the 100 Fly.

In the 200 Free, Quah is coming off a pool record against USC, while Dornick made an NCAA 'B' cut to join Murphy on that list for the event. Khojasteh had a 'B' mark versus USC in the 100 Breast. In the 100 Back, three have 'B' times, Mack, Kinnear and freshman Madison White. Mack swam the fastest time in UCLA history in Texas, while White had the fourth-fastest swim.

The 3-Meter diving will begin after the completion of the swimming preliminaries. Both Guzman and Lenz have Zone qualifying totals. The finals for the 3-Meter will occur during that evening's finals session, which starts at 6 p.m. The 400 IM, 100 Fly, 200 Free, 100 Breast, 100 Back and 3-Meter will precede the 400 Medley Relay to end the night.

The final day of the Championships starts with the Women's Platform prelims at 10 a.m. on Saturday. Lenz and sophomore Montana Monahan each have Zone qualifying marks.

At 11 a.m., the swimming starts with the prelims of the 200 Back, 100 Free, 200 Breast and 200 Fly. White, Senko and senior Jesse Bergman all have NCAA 'B' qualifying times in the 200 Back. Four more Bruins have 'B' times in the 100 Free, Murphy, Mack, Quah and Dornick.

In the 200 Breast, Khojasteh improved her 'B' time against USC, while freshman Ashley Tse made the 'B' cut versus the Trojans. Four swimmers have 'B' marks in the 200 Fly, Tarazona, Kinnear, Quah and Senko.

The 1650 Free will begin at 4 p.m. Baker and Campbell each have NCAA 'B' times in the event from December in Texas, with Campbell's time ranking fourth in school history. The fastest heat of the 1650 Free will kick off the evening session at 6 p.m.

The 200 Back, 100 Free, 200 Breast, 200 Fly and Platform diving finals will precede the 400 Free Relay to close out the championships. The foursome of Murphy, Mack, Quah and Dornick set a school record in Texas with a 3:17.09, which was just shy of qualifying for the NCAA's.

Last season, the Bruins finished fifth at the Pac-12 Championships with 998.5 points. UCLA, which is ranked 16th in the latest CSCAA poll, went 8-4 in dual meets this season and 5-4 in Pac-12 action.
