In the second of two relays raced on Wednesday, the Bruin 'A' team finished fifth overall, just shy of the school record of 7:06.23, but ahead of the NCAA qualifying mark of 7:07.31 to book their ticket to Minneapolis (March 20-22).
In the initial event of the Pac-12 Championships, freshman Linnea Mack, junior Jessica Khojasteh, sophomore Katie Kinnear and senior Kathryn Murphy were fifth overall with a time of 1:39.11. The UCLA 'B' team of White, juniors Taylor Carlson and Noelle Tarazona and senior Jesse Bergman swam a 1:39.82.
Through one night, UCLA is fifth in the team rankings with 100 points.
The individual races start on Thursday, with preliminaries at 11 a.m. Up first is the 500 Free, followed by the 200 Individual Medley and the 50 Free. At 3 p.m., the 1-Meter diving preliminaries begin, with the finals starting 15 minutes after the prelims end. The swimming finals of the 500 Free, 200 IM and 50 Free commence at 6 p.m., with the 200 Free Relay rounding out the day's schedule.
