MINNEAPOLIS - Senior Ting Quah bettered her school record in the 100 Butterfly on the second day of the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships on Friday at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center.

The morning session began with the 200 Medley Relay, as freshman Linnea Mack, junior Taylor Carlson, Quah and senior Kathryn Murphy finished 23rd overall with a time of 1:38.72.

In the first individual swim on Friday, senior Lauren Baker and junior Noelle Tarazona swam in the 400 Individual Medley. Tarazona was 26th with a season-best time of 4:11.74, just .02 off her career high. Baker placed 39th with a personal-best swim of 4:14.08. It moved Baker from eighth to seventh on UCLA's all-time list in the event.

Quah qualified for the evening finals in the 100 Butterfly, improving her own school record with a 51.89, the 10th-best time in the morning. Tarazona was 27th with a 52.89 to move her up to fourth in school history in the 100 Fly.

In the B Final of the 100 Fly, Quah would swim a 52.54 to finish 15th overall and seventh in the race.

In the 100 Backstroke, freshman Madison White had a career-best 52.67. That swim moved her from third to second all-time in school history in the event. Fellow freshman Mack, the school-record holder in the 100 Back, was 40th with a 53.79.

The morning concluded with the 800 Freestyle Relay and the Bruins had the 12th-best time with a season-best swim of 7:06.49 by Quah, senior Anna Senko, Murphy and Tarazona.

The last day of the Championships is on Saturday with 9 a.m. PT trials. The first race for a Bruin will be the fourth of the morning, the 200 Butterfly. Tarazona is qualified for the event, while Senko is the third alternate. UCLA will also swim in the 400 Free Relay. The Bruins set a school record in the event in the Texas meet (3:17.09). The morning session ends with the start of the 1650 Free, with Baker and sophomore Katy Campbell representing the Bruins. Campbell had a 16:05.95 on the final day of Pac-12's (March 1) to put her fourth on UCLA's all-time list. The last heat of timed finals for the 1650 Free will be at 5 p.m. when the Saturday finals start.
