SAN JOSE, Calif. - Freshman Linnea Mack was honored in November as the San Jose Sports Authority Hall of Fame Female High School Athlete of the Year for 2013.

Mack was a nine-time All-American in swimming at Pioneer High School in San Jose and named the team Most Valuable Swimmer four times. She was also First Team All-League and team captain during her senior year of 2013.

During her time with Pioneer, she set school records in the 50 and 100 Free and 100 Back and the 200 and 400 Free Relays and 200 Medley Relay. She is also the league record holder in the 50 and 100 Free, 100 Back and 100 Butterfly. Mack was a Central Coast Section champion in the 50 Free and 200 Medley Relay as a senior and 100 Back as a freshman. In the classroom, she was a three-time Scholastic All-American.

Mack has had a great start to her collegiate career. She broke the school record in the 100 Back at the recent Texas Invitational and was also a part of the school-record breaking 200 Medley and 400 Freestyle Relays. Mack, who also had four NCAA 'B' qualifying times at the Texas meet, swam the third-best time in the 50 Free. She has also won three individual races in dual meets.

The next competition for the Bruin swimmers is Jan. 11 against Utah at Spieker Aquatics Center at 11 a.m. The meet will be televised on Pac-12 Networks.
