LOS ANGELES - The 12th-ranked Bruins improved to 11-0 in dual meets this season, winning 10 of 11 races in a 114-72 victory over Simon Fraser on Saturday at Spieker Aquatics Center. Junior Anna Senko won a pair of events.

The Bruin relay got the home team off to a good start, as freshman Katie Kinnear and sophomores Jessica Khojasteh, Noelle Tarazona and Taylor Carlson swam a time of 1:44.51. Freshman Megan Rankin followed that with a win in the 1000 Freestyle in a mark of 10:06.64, as the Bruins went 1-2-3 with sophomore Kacey Milligan (10:08.91) and freshman Katy Campbell (10:14.08).

All seven UCLA swimmers over two heats in the 200 Freestyle recorded the Top 7 times, with sophomore Monica Dornick leading the way (1:51.65), followed by senior Briana Meyer (1:53.36), junior Lauren Baker (1:53.60) and senior Molly Fitzgerald (1:53.61).

Junior Cynthia Fascella finished first in the 50 Free with a time of 23.40, while Senko picked up her first victory of the afternoon in the 200 Individual Medley in a mark of 2:01.92, as the Bruins had the top seven times. Senior Laurence Delisle (2:03.26), junior Ting Quah (2:03.58) and senior Andrea Reigel (2:03.79) rounded out the best four marks.

After the first break, the Bruins posted the top six times in the 100 Butterfly. Birthday girl Tarazona (55.50) just defeated senior Stephanie Christofferson (55.52). Quah followed that with a victory in the 100 Free in a time of 50.44, as Fascella was third (51.74).

Senko won her second event, the 100 Backstroke, with a time of 56.69, as Bruins had the best three times with Reigel swimming a 56.85 and Delisle posting a mark of 57.26. In the last race before the second break, Baker claimed the 500 Free in a time of 4:54.14, as all seven Bruins finished in the Top 7 spots. Rankin (4:57.53) just out-dueled Meyer (4:57.54) for the second-best time.

Simon Fraser claimed its lone victory of the meet in the 100 Breaststroke, but the Bruins followed that with a first-place showing in the 200 Free Relay. Quah, Fascella, junior Jesse Bergman and Senko posted a time of 1:33.77.

The Bruin swimming team is off from competition next week and next races on Feb. 1 and 2 at Stanford and California, respectively. The UCLA diving squad heads to Colorado Springs, Colo. next weekend (Jan. 25-26) for the Air Force Diving Invitational.
