Five Accept Entry into NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships

LOS ANGELES – The UCLA track and field team has five athletes accepted for entry into the NCAA Indoor Championships. The meet will be held on March 14-15 at the Albuquerque Convention Center in Albuquerque, N.M.

On the initial list released by the NCAA, the No. 22-ranked UCLA women will be represented by Kylie Price in the long jump, Kelsey Smith in the 3,000m and Ida Storm  in the weight throw. Price is the top qualifier for the Bruins as she ranks fourth in the country with a mark of 21-2. Smith ranks sixth in the 3,000m with a time of 9:04.31 while Storm is seventh in the weight throw with a mark of 70-1.50.

The men will have two athletes slated to compete in the championship as Mike Woepse will once again take part in the pole vault while Marcus Nilsson qualified in the heptathlon. Woepse sports the sixth best mark in the pole vault with a clearance of 18-0.50. Nilsson is 12th in the heptathlon with 5,665 points.
