LOS ANGELES – The UCLA track and field team will head to historic Hilmer Lodge Stadium at Mt. San Antonio College for the Mt. SAC Relays. Competition for the Bruins will begin on Thursday evening and go through Friday, April 18.
The UCLA men ranked 15th while the women are 14th in the latest USTFCCCA poll. The Bruins dispatched the BYU Cougars and the TCU Horned Frogs this past weekend at the Rafer Johnson/Jackie Joyner-Kersee Invitational.
Kylie Price won every event she competed in at the meet to earn Pac-12 honors for the second consecutive week. Price won the 100m (11.56), 200m (23.90), long jump (21-1.25) and ran a leg on the 4x100m relay, posting season-bests in all four events.
UCLA has six athletes ranked in the top-10 in the country in their respective events. Leading the way for the Bruins is the collegiate record holder Julian Wruck with a national leading mark of 213-3. Price has the fourth best mark in the long jump with a leap of 21-1.25 while Nick Hartle is also fourth in the 800m with a time of 1:47.51.
Cody Crampton is eighth in the high jump with a clearance of 7-2.50 while Mike Woepse is ninth in the pole Vault (17-11.75) and Nicholas Scarvelis is 10th in the shot put with a throw of 63-2.75. UCLA has 32 marks in the top-40 in the NCAA Western Region rankings.
UCLA will head to the Triton Invitational next weekend in a two-day meet that will begin on Friday, April 25 in San Diego, Calif.
