UCLA will head to Pullman for the Pac-12 Championships.

LOS ANGELES – The UCLA track and field team will head to the Mooberry Track and Field Complex in Pullman, Wash., for the Pac-12 Championships. The competition will begin on Saturday, May 17 and conclude on Sunday, May 18. The meet will be tape delayed on the Pac-12 Networks and be shown on Sunday, May 25 at 9 a.m. and 6 p.m.

On Saturday, the field events will begin at Noon with the action on the will track take place at 1 p.m. On Sunday, the meet will continue at 11 a.m. in the field and 1 p.m. on the track.

The UCLA men, who enter the meet ranked No .12 in the country in the latest USTFCCCA poll has won a league-best 17 team titles. Last year the Bruins finished third overall, getting individual titles from Julian Wruck and Mike Woepse. Wruck broke the meet record in the discus with a throw of 214-7. UCLA has strung together an individual conference title in each of the last 49 years.

The women placed fourth at last year’s meet and have won a conference-best 15 league titles and 127 event titles. Brea Buchanan and Kylie Price were the top finishers for the Bruins a year ago as Buchanan placed second in the 100m hurdles with a lifetime best of 12.77 while Price placed second in the long jump and in the 100m.

This season the Bruin men enter the meet with 14 marks ranked in the top-10 of the conference while the women post 15 marks. Nick Hartle holds the top time in the Pac-12 in the 800m with a 1:47.51. Joining Hartle is Woepse in the pole vault with a clearance of 18-5.25, Wruck in the discus (213-3) and Nicholas Scarvelis in the shot put (64-4.50). On the women’s side, Price is second in the long jump at 21-2 while Alexis Walker is tied for second in the high jump at 5-11.50. Buchanan and Trinity Wilson have the third best times in the 100 hurdles.

The Bruin women enter the meet with five points to start as Alexis Walker placed fourth this past weekend in the heptathlon. In just her second time in the multi-event, Walker tallied 5,200 points. Monique Van placed ninth and Katherine Salcido finished 10th, respectively.

The NCAA West Region Prelims will begin on Thursday, May 29 in Fayetteville, Ark., and conclude on Saturday, May 31 at John McDonnell Field. The NCAA Championships will begin on Wednesday, June 11 and be held in Eugene, Ore.
