BRUINS TRAVEL TO MARY NUTTER COLLEGIATE CLASSIC
The eighth-ranked Bruins head to the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic in Cathedral City this weekend, facing three ranked teams. UCLA takes on #13 and defending national champion Oklahoma on Friday at 6 p.m., #16 Missouri (2:30 p.m.) and Maryland (5 p.m.) on Saturday and #11 Nebraska (8:30 a.m.) and New Mexico (2 p.m.) on Sunday. All games will be played at Big League Dreams Sports Park Wrigley Field. All contests will feature free audio and live stats at UCLABruins.com, in addition to live updates at twitter.com/uclasoftball.

ON DECK
The Bruins travel to the Mayfair Invitational in Lakewood next weekend, taking on #5 Michigan (4:30 p.m.) and Long Beach State on Friday, Feb. 28, Louisville (2 p.m.) and Northwestern (7 p.m.) on Saturday, March 1 and Illinois (11:15 a.m.) on Sunday, March 2.

BRUINS IN THE POLLS
The Bruins jumped up four spots in both national polls this week, moving to eighth in the USA Today/NFCA rankings and ninth in the ESPN.com/USA Softball poll. UCLA received 132 additional points in the NFCA poll and 46 more points in the USA Softball rankings. The Bruins were ranked fourth in the Pac-12 preseason coaches poll, receiving 42 points.

WOMEN’S SOCCER CHAMPION LAVRUSKY ADDED TO ROSTER
2013 UCLA women’s soccer national champion Kodi Lavrusky was added to the UCLA softball roster last weekend as a pinch-runner. She wore #24 at the Stacy Winsberg Memorial Tournament and scored in each of her first two pinch-running appearances in a Feb. 15 doubleheader against Western Kentucky and Robert Morris. Lavrusky, who will be on the active roster again this weekend in Cathedral City, scored the golden goal in the 97th minute of the NCAA Championship game against Florida State last December. The sophomore forward from Yucaipa scored seven goals in 2013.

NEWS AND NOTES
Kelly Inouye-Perez recorded the 300th victory of her head coaching career on Feb. 8 at Hawai’i ... the Bruins’ 11-0 start marks the 13th time in program history that they have won at least 10 straight games to open a season. The last time UCLA had double digits in wins before its first loss was 2012 when it began the year 10-0 ... in 11 games, the Bruins have already attempted 26 stolen bases, coming up with a steal 17 times. All of last year, UCLA had 38 steals in 49 attempts ... through two weeks of play, the Bruin pitchers lead all Pac-12 teams in earned run average (0.38), opposing batting average (.110) and strikeouts (90). UCLA is also first in the conference in fielding percentage (.990) and walks (53) ... the Bruins have not allowed more than two runs in a game yet this season and have posted seven shutouts ... junior Ally Carda tossed the first no-hitter of her career against Delaware on Feb. 6 and the fourth for the Bruins over the last two seasons (Jessica Hall, two and Paige McDuffee, one). It was the sixth season-opening, no-hitter in UCLA history and the first since Keira Goerl in 2002 ... Carda, who has not allowed a run in 23 1/3 straight innings, has started games at five different positions this season at pitcher, first base, left field, center and designated player ... sophomore Brittany Moeai has hits in seven of her last nine games, including four straight to end last weekend’s Stacy Winsberg Memorial Tournament. She had a pair of two-hit games on Feb. 15 to give her eight multiple-hit contests for her career ... junior Stephany LaRosa hit two homers for the sixth time in her career last Friday against UC Davis, also tying a career high with five RBI. In a position switch to catcher and first base this season after playing third base as a freshman and shortstop as a sophomore, LaRosa has yet to commit an error in 91 opportunities along with only one passed ball ... sophomore Mysha Sataraka leads the team with 13 runs batted in and has multiple RBI in a game four times this season. She has 13 multi-RBI contests for her career ... senior Jessica Hall has at least seven strikeouts in all four games she has appeared in, including her fifth double-figure contest with 10 versus Robert Morris last Saturday. She also had hits in five of the six games of the Winsberg Tournament ... junior Tara Mueller, who has started 10 of 11 games in the outfield, produced her first-ever, two-hit game against UC Davis last Sunday ... junior Gracie Goulder has started all 71 games she has played in at UCLA at second base ... senior Alyssa Tiumalu, who was named Pac-12 Player of the Week after her outstanding opening weekend, reached base in four of six games at the Winsberg Tournament, with singles in both Feb. 15 contests ... sophomore Paige McDuffee struck out a career-best nine against Robert Morris last Friday. She has thrown eight-inning complete games twice this year versus Hawai’i (Feb. 7) and RMU ... freshman Delaney Spaulding has reached base in all 11 games this year, producing hits in 10 of them to give her the team lead in batting average. Spaulding, who hit her first collegiate home run against Loyola Marymount last Sunday, has multiple hits in five of those contests.

SCOUTING THE MARY NUTTER COLLEGIATE CLASSIC FIELD
The Bruins lead the all-time series with Oklahoma 8-2, winning the most recent meeting at this tournament in 2011, a 3-0 UCLA victory over the Sooners ... Missouri has won the last two in the series with UCLA, but the Bruins lead the all-time tally 11-3. The last meeting was in Cathedral City, as Missouri won a 7-5, six-inning game that was shortened because of the Tigers’ travel curfew ... UCLA and Maryland also last met at the Cathedral City Classic, with the Bruins posting a 4-3 victory to improve to 5-0 all-time against the Terrapins ... the Bruins have not faced Nebraska since 2004 and lead the all-time series 11-1. UCLA has defeated the Cornhuskers eight straight times, including a 10-1, five-inning win in Las Vegas in the last matchup ... UCLA run-ruled New Mexico last March 3 in San Diego by a score of 14-3 in five. The Bruins lead the all-time series with the Lobos 8-1.
