Release:  02/29/2000

Feb. 29, 2000

LOS ANGELES - UCLA junior pitcher Courtney Dale will be out of the lineup for 4-6 weeks as she begins rehabilitation for a torn labrum in her pitching (right) shoulder.

The softball All-American missed Saturday's doubleheader against Fresno State, as the injury was diagnosed on Friday evening. She has opted to postpone surgery, and instead begin a strength training program designed to strengthen the capsule surrounding the injury. The target date for her return to the lineup is approximately mid-April.
