After opening up Pac-12 play on the road last week, the third-ranked UCLA men's tennis team (15-2; 2-0 Pac-12) returns home this week to host conference rivals No. 18 Cal (12-3; 2-0 Pac-12) and Stanford (9-2; 2-0 Pac-12). Action begins on Friday when the Bruins and Bears square off at the Los Angeles Tennis Center beginning at 1:30 p.m. It marks the first meeting of the year between the two teams, as the Bruins did not make it to Berkeley in its trip up north earlier in the season. On Saturday, UCLA and Stanford will meet at 1:00 p.m. The Bruins and Cardinal met back on Feb. 9 in Palo Alto, however that match was halted while tied at 1-1 due to rain.

There is no charge for admission to either of this weekend's home matches. Free pizza courtesy of Extreme Pizza will be available both days (first 100 fans). There will also be a Bruin Trivia Contest and raffle where fans will be able to win prizes. Saturday is USTA Campus Kids Day, an event put on by the Southern California Tennis Association. There will be a Q&A and meet and greet with the UCLA players following the match.

Fans unable to attend the matches can follow the progress online on UCLA's LIVE STATS page.

Since the UCLA-Stanford match will be the final regular-season home contest for the Bruins this year, there will be a special Senior Day ceremony for Bruin players Clay Thompson, Adrien Puget and Brendan Wee. Senior manager David Vu will also be honored.

UCLA is coming off a pair of Pac-12 road wins last week, downing Washington, 4-1 on Friday in Seattle and No. 27 Oregon, 4-0 on Saturday in Eugene. With the two victories, UCLA is now 8-1 in its last nine matches.

The Bruins moved up two spots from No. 5 to No. 3 in this week's ITA Team Rankings. UCLA trails only No. 1 Ohio State and No. 2 USC. Individual rankings were last released on March 25 and Bruin senior Clay Thompson remains the No. 1 player in America. He is joined in the top 10 by sixth-ranked Marcos Giron. Mackenzie McDonald (No. 33), Gage Brymer (No. 73) and Karue Sell (No. 83) are also currently ranked in singles. In doubles, Giron and McDonald are ranked No. 21 nationally. Following this weekend's action, UCLA closes out its 2014 dual-match season on the road, playing matches at Utah (April 11), Arizona (April 13) and USC (April 18). The Bruins will then look to defend their two-consecutive conference titles in Ojai, as the Pac-12 Tournament runs from April 23-26 at Libbey Park.
