LOS ANGELES - The fifth-ranked UCLA men's tennis team hosted a doubleheader at the Los Angeles Tennis Center on Tuesday afternoon, downing both Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and Loyola Marymount by idential 4-0 scores. With the two wins on the day, UCLA improved its record to 13-2 on the season.

The Bruins began the day against Division-III Claremont-Mudd-Scripps. After claiming the doubles point, UCLA received wins at the top three courts, where sixth-ranked Marcos Giron, top-ranked Clay Thompson and 33rd-ranked Mackenzie McDonald all cruised to straight-set victories. The Bruins were also up a set at courts 3-6 when play was suspended.

Following nearly a three-hour break, UCLA took the court again, this time against LMU. The Bruins followed a very similar script to their earlier win on the day, cruising through doubles play before eventually taking wins at court Nos. 1-3. Bruin freshman Joseph Di Giulio would get the clinching win over the Lions, as his 6-2, 6-0 win over Othar Kordsachia at court No. 3 sealed the victory for UCLA.

Head coach Billy Martin was able to give some of his regular starters a rest against the Lions, as Ryoto Tachi, Michael Guzman and Brendan Wee all saw action in the team's 4-0 win.

UCLA opens up Pac-12 play this weekend, as the Bruins head to the Pacific Northwest to take on Washington (Friday) and Oregon (Saturday).
