Giron, from nearby Thousand Oaks, Calif., is scheduled to take on third-seeded Jason Jung of the USA at 2:00 p.m. at the Calabasas Tennis & Swim Center. Giron advanced to the final by upsetting sixth-seeded Mate Pavic of Croatia, 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 on Saturday evening. Jung, who played at Michigan, was a 7-5, 6-2 winner over former USC standout Daniel Nguyen.
In doubles, Novikov, who played at UCLA in 2012 and 2013 before turning pro, and partner Connor Smith will be in action in the doubles final against top-seeded Americans Sekou Bangoura and Evan King. That match is scheduled for Noon on Sunday.
