UCLA junior Chanelle Van Nguyen and freshman Jennifer Brady both posted semifinal singles wins on Sunday. Van Nguyen, the tournament's No. 9 seed, was absolutely dominant in her semifinal showdown with USC's Brynn Boren, as she lost just one game in a 6-1, 6-0 victory. In the bottom half of the draw, Brady, the tournament's No. 13 seed, was also a straight-set winner, downing Pepperdine's fourth-seeded Lorraine Guillermo, 6-4, 6-3.
Brady actually has the chance for a double in San Diego, as she and partner Catherine Harrison moved into the doubles final with an 8-1 upset over top-seeded Kaitlyn Christian and Sabrina Santamaria. Christian and Santamaria are the defending NCAA Doubles Champions. The fourth-seeded Brady and Harrison will square off against USC's Boren and Zoe Katz in Monday's final.
