The Bruins wrap up a four-match road trip next week in the desert, facing Arizona on Friday, Oct. 18 at 6 p.m. and #16 Arizona State on Sunday, Oct. 20 at 11 a.m. Both contests will be televised live on Pac-12 Networks.

The Bruins fell from 16th to 23rd in this week’s AVCA Coaches poll and from 16th to 19th in the latest Volleyball Magazine Top 20 rankings.
NEWS AND NOTES
The Bruins have won 42 straight matches when hitting .300 or better, including four times this season ... nationally, the Bruins are 30th in kills per set (13.98) and 39th in hitting percentage (.258) ... the Bruins are 10 wins away from 1,200 for the program’s history ... UCLA has won all nine of its contests when leading a match in hitting percentage ... senior Kelly Reeves is 25 digs away from becoming the 22nd Bruin to post 1,000 career digs. Reeves has five double-doubles this season and 15 for her career ... freshman Jordan Robbins has started each of the last eight matches and is averaging 5.84 assists per set during that span. She registered her second double-double of the year after going for 12 digs and 21 assists at Colorado on Sept. 27 ... redshirt freshman Haley Lawless has at least four kills in seven straight matches and at least four digs in six of her last seven, producing highs of seven kills twice and 13 digs at Colorado ... junior Monica Stauber earned her first career double-double at Long Beach State (Sept. 18) with a career-high 28 assists and 11 digs. She has at least six digs in four of her last five contests ... sophomore Karly Drolson set a career high with 23 digs at Colorado. She has at least seven digs in eight consecutive contests ... one match after posting her first career double-figure kills match, sophomore Maddy Klineman recorded her first contest with double figures in digs, producing 10 at Long Beach. Against Creighton on Sept. 24, she had 19 kills ... freshman Claire Felix had a career-high 12 kills and seven digs at USC on Sept. 25. She hit .500 with only two errors in 20 attempts ... junior Megan Moenoa (hip/back) returned to the lineup against Stanford last Wednesday and had 15 assists and three digs ... senior Mariana Aquino, who is sixth in the conference in hitting percentage (.391) and 36th in the nation, had a career-high 17 kills at Colorado. She has seven matches this season with at least five kills and one or zero hitting errors ... junior Zoë Nightingale had a season-high nine blocks at Colorado, one match after producing nine kills at USC with a .500 hitting percentage ... junior Karsta Lowe enters the week sixth among Pac-12 players in kills per set (4.04) and seventh in points per set (4.41). Nationally, Lowe is 37th in kps and 50th in pps.
SCOUTING THE OREGON DUCKS
Oregon (9-5, 2-2 Pac-12) has defeated Oregon State and Arizona State in Pac-12 play, while falling to Washington and Arizona. The Ducks are hitting .257 as a team, averaging 14.43 kills, 1.33 aces, 15.43 digs and 2.47 blocks per set. Three players are averaging at least 3.00 kps, led by junior Liz Brenner’s 4.18. She is also third with 2.75 dps. Senior Ariana Williams is tops on the squad with 1.18 bps and a .400 hitting percentage, adding 3.05 kps, while sophomore Martenne Bettendorf is second with 3.11 kps. Senior Lauren Plum handles the setting duties and is averaging 12.13 assists per set and 2.77 dps (second on the team), while freshman Amanda Benson is first on the squad with 4.47 dps. The Bruins lead the all-time series with the Ducks 51-7, but Oregon won the lone matchup last year in Eugene in three (Nov. 20). The Ducks have won two straight overall, which was proceeded by a three-match winning streak for the Bruins, including a four-set win at Oregon in 2010.
SCOUTING THE OREGON STATE BEAVERS
The Beavers (9-6) have dropped all four Pac-12 contests so far and host USC on Friday before entertaining the Bruins. Oregon State is hitting .207 as a team, averaging 12.66 kills, 1.04 aces, 15.02 digs and 2.06 blocks per set. Three players are averaging over 2.00 kps, led by freshman Lila Toner’s 3.10 kps. Junior Laura Schaudt is second at 2.66 kps and sophomore Sara Almen is third at 2.10 kps. Junior Tayla Woods quarterbacks the offense and is averaging 10.15 assists per set and 2.38 dps, which is second on the squad. Senior Becky Defoe is tops with 4.64 dps and junior Arica Nassar is first with 1.14 bps. The Bruins lead the all-time series with the Beavers 51-3 and have won 10 straight. UCLA swept Oregon State in Westwood last year and won in four in Corvallis. The Bruins have won 25 of their 26 matchups at Oregon State.
