SENIOR WEEK AT PAULEY CLOSES REGULAR SEASON
The Bruins wrap up the regular season at Pauley Pavilion this week, hosting #7 USC on Wednesday at 7 p.m. and Utah on Friday at 5 p.m. The UCLA-USC matchup will air live on Pac-12 Networks, while the UCLA-Utah contest will have a live video stream at UCLABruins.com. Seniors Mariana Aquino, Meg Norton, Kelly Reeves and Madie Smith will be honored prior to Friday’s match.

WHAT’S NEXT
The NCAA Selection Show will air on ESPNU on Sunday at 6:30 p.m. The first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament start next weekend at 16 campus sites around the nation.

NEWS AND NOTES
The Bruins have won 44 straight matches when hitting .300 or better, including six times this season ... UCLA surpassed the 15-block mark for the third time this season on Nov. 10 against Oregon with 16.5. The top two totals of 17 roofs have come at Long Beach State (Sept. 18) and Oregon State (Oct. 12) ... nationally, the Bruins are 32nd in assists per set (13.07), 34th in kills per set (14.01) and 43rd in hitting percentage (.250). Among Pac-12 teams, UCLA is fourth in hitting and fifth in aps and kps ... the Bruins are four wins away from 1,200 for the program’s history ... UCLA is 9-2 when holding its opponent under a .200 hitting percentage ... the Bruins are 15-3 when winning the hitting battle, but 0-10 when not doing so ... senior Kelly Reeves recorded her second match this season with at least 20 digs against Arizona State on Friday when she had 21. Reeves is now at 1,163 career digs, which puts her ninth in UCLA history and 51 digs behind eighth-place Jenny Johnson (1,214) ... sophomore Karly Drolson has surpassed double figures in digs in seven of her last nine matches, including a career-high 32 at California on Nov. 3. It is the first time since 2010 (Lainey Gera) that a Bruin had surpassed the 30-dig mark, as well as one of six times this year Drolson has reached at least 20 digs ... sophomore Maddy Klineman had nine kills in each of last weekend’s matches against the Arizona schools. She has at least nine kills in nine of her last 10 contests, as well as one ace in nine matches ... freshman Claire Felix had 14 kills and only two errors in 23 attempts last weekend for a .522 hitting percentage. She made just her second career start against Arizona last Sunday ... junior Megan Moenoa has at least 37 assists in 10 consecutive contests, posting double-doubles in three of those matches. On Friday, Moenoa had six block assists against ASU and notched her first block solo of the year versus Arizona ... senior Mariana Aquino tied career highs in kills (17) and digs (6) at Washington State on Nov. 15, while hitting a personal-best .682. Aquino, who is 35th nationally with a .379 hitting percentage, has also served an ace in nine straight contests ... junior Zoë Nightingale has taken over the team lead in bps thanks to posting at least three blocks in 14 straight matches. Nightingale has surpassed five blocks in half of those contests, including an eight-roof effort against Oregon on Nov. 10 ... junior Karsta Lowe, who has double figures in kills in 27 of 28 matches, is 24th in the nation in kps (4.31) and 31st in pps (4.70). Lowe surpassed the 20-kill mark for the eighth time this year against Arizona State when she hit the number on the nose and also has at least four digs in four straight contests ... senior Madie Smith has at least six digs in six of her last seven matches. She produced a season-best 10 to go with six assists against Oregon and equaled the 10-dig mark versus Arizona on Sunday.

SCOUTING THE USC TROJANS
USC swept the Arizona schools at home last weekend and has won six of its last eight, with the two losses coming at the Washington schools two weekends ago. The Trojans are hitting .277 as a team, averaging 14.80 kills, 1.25 aces, 16.26 digs and 2.75 blocks per set. Five players are averaging over 2.00 kps, led by Samantha Bricio’s 3.42. The sophomore also has a team-best 70 aces, 55 percent of the team’s aces, as well as 2.74 dps. Freshmen Ebony Nwanebu (3.35 kps) and Elise Ruddins (2.47) and seniors Alexis Olgard (2.22) and Sara Shaw (2.03) are also above 2.00 kps. Junior Hayley Crone (6.48 assists per set) and freshman Alice Pizzasegola (5.74) are splitting the setting duties. Senior Natalie Hagglund is tops on the team in dps (5.41), while Olgard (1.29) and junior Hannah Schraer (1.03) are each above a block per set.

THE MATCHUP: BRUINS VS. TROJANS
UCLA dropped a four-set decision at USC on Sept. 25 (23-25, 22-25, 25-21, 16-25). Karsta Lowe had 15 kills, Claire Felix posted 12 kills and a .500 hitting percentage and Kelly Reeves added eight kills and 14 digs. The Bruins still lead the all-time series 58-54 and are 28-21 at home against the Trojans. Last year, UCLA posted a four-set win at Pauley Pavilion on Nov. 23 (19-25, 25-23, 25-17, 25-19).

SCOUTING THE UTAH UTES
Utah, which plays at Colorado on Wednesday, enters this week’s action having won two of three after dropping five in a row. The Utes won at home in four against Oregon State on Sunday, but fell in four two days earlier to Oregon. Utah is hitting .230 as a team, averaging 13.53 kills, 1.02 aces, 15.20 digs and 2.91 blocks per set. Four players are averaging over 2.00 kps, led by junior Shelby Dalton’s 2.68. Junior Chelsey Schofield (2.38) and seniors Erin Redd-Brandon (2.31) and Morgan Odale (2.26) are also above 2.00 kps. Sophomore Kendall Cygan (5.61 assists per set) and junior Kalee Kirby (5.45) are splitting the setting duties. Schofield is the team leader in dps at 3.32, while Redd-Brandon (1.41), junior Bailey Bateman (1.24) and Dalton (1.17) are each averaging over a block per set.

THE MATCHUP: BRUINS VS. UTES
UCLA leads the all-time series with Utah 12-1, including six wins in a row. Last year, the Bruins won in five sets in Salt Lake City (Nov. 10) and swept the Utes in Westwood (Oct. 17). UCLA has won all three matchups and nine sets all-time in Los Angeles. The Utes’ lone victory against the Bruins was a five-set win in Salt Lake City on Sept. 17, 2004.
