Men's Tennis Splits at All-American Championships

Los Angeles - UCLA sophomore Jean-Noel Grinda won his second round match at the 1998 ITA All-American Championships hosted at the University of Texas' Penick- Allison Tennis Center today. Grinda defeated UNLV's Asaf Tishler 4-6, 6-3, 6-4.

UCLA freshman Zach Fleishman was eliminated from the consolation bracket by Baylor's Johann Jooste 6-4, 6-3.

Two rounds of main draw singles will take place on Saturday, with Grinda meeting Jack Brasington of Texas in the morning. A victory would advance Grinda to face the winner of the match between UCSB's Cory Guy and Stanford's Ryan Wolters in the afternoon.
