The top-ranked UCLA men's soccer team ended its 1998 regular season with a 1-0 win over Oregon State. Senior Seth George scored the game's only goal in the 35th minute when a McKinley Tennyson shot hit the crossbar and came out for George to boot in.
George's goal was his 15th this season and his 49th in his career. He now has 125 career points and a school-record 20 career game-winning goals.
The Bruin defense held Oregon State to just seven shots on goal - only two in the first half. UCLA keeper Nick Rimando made three saves while earning his eighth solo shutout of the season. Oregon State's Colin McMillen made five saves in the loss.
UCLA will await an at-large playoff bid when the NCAA Tournament brackets are announced Monday, Nov. 16 at 6:00 pm.
