HONOLULU, Hawaii - In the first match of the second day of play in the Hawaiian Airlines Wahine Volleyball Classic, No. 18 UCLA (0-2) dropped its second match of the season as No. 6 University of Florida (1-1) evened its record at 1-1 by registering a 15-2, 15-8, 15-9 sweep.
Florida was led by Jenni Manz who hit .516 while scoring 18 kills. The Gator attack was supported by Jenni Keene with 10 kills and .474 hitting. The first game went quickly as the Gators recorded 17 kills while hitting .615. Manz led the opening charge with eight kills on .800 hitting.
The second game featured Manz and Keene with six kills each. The Gator's Sandra Reboucas supplied the defense with seven digs. Florida scored six of the games final seven points in earning the 15-8 win.
UCLA scored the first three points of game three, but Florida rallied to tie the score 4-4 and never trailed again on the way to the 15-9 victory.
The Bruins were led by a pair of freshmen again as Ashley Bowles and Kristee Porter totaled nine kills for the second day in a row.
