1:<div class="data-import"><P><B>Dec. 14, 2005</B><P> 2:UCLA junior middle blocker <A HREF="/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=30500&ATCLID=208191804" >Nana Meriwether</a> was named an AVCA Third-Team All-American, it was announced today. Meriwether is the 21st Bruin to earn AVCA All-America honors. This is the second consecutive year that UCLA has had an AVCA All-American, as <A HREF="/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=30500&ATCLID=208191850" >Chrissie Zartman</a> (Second Team) and <A HREF="/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=30500&ATCLID=208191582" >Krystal McFarland</a> (Third Team) were so honored last year. 3:<P>Meriwether had one of the best blocking seasons in recent UCLA history, finishing with 43 solo blocks (second-best in UCLA history), 153 block assists (eighth) and 196 total blocks (fourth-best in UCLA history) for the season. Her .380 attack percentage for the season also ranks as the sixth-best performance for a season in school history. The junior from Potomac, Md., was also named first-team All-Pacific Region and first-team All-Pac-10 this year, as well as earning All-Tournament notice at all three of UCLA's regular-season tournaments this weekend. 4:<P>Three full 12-member AVCA All-America teams will be honored on Friday at the AVCA All-America banquet in San Antonio, Texas.
